Automation saves Nurses

       Automation or computerization in all Healthcare institutions has been useful and known to have positive and excellent outcomes which have been proven centuries ago. With technology in their side it would be easier to work without any hindrance. Computerization is always needed to all departments of a Hospital because of heavy workloads. Admission, Billing section, Laboratories, Pharmacy for instance, without Automation Health workers will double their efforts which will be stressful to them.

        Now, including the other divisions of a Hospitals that includes: Nurses stations, Operating room, Delivery room, Emergency room, and etc. have been computerized in order for them to lessen time consumption especially if there's too much of patients admitted. Nurses can benefit from this especially nurses who are assigned at the Nurses Station which have plenty of paper works for documentation and gathering of datums. You can already put datums most especially the Vital signs and other important records or documentation. Nurses can perform their duty well and can render quality care to their patient which they can also have more time to relax . Communication well also be easy with powerful network systems and so it can be use to budget time  for better and error-free work.

Nurses and Computers

       The use of computers are becoming useful to clinical setting nowadays but some Nurses don't know how to use it because of lack of exposure to technology. That's the reason why the Commission on Higher Education require a specialized computer course to BSN curriculum which lead them to pass a memorandum order CMO no.5 series 2008 to all deans of college of Nursing throughout the country. This will help future Nurses be tamed and be able to know how to use them in an advantage way. Today's generation of Nurses are very lucky because of early exposure to technology which will be easier for them to catch up.

        Nurses needs to evolve further in order for them to be updated at any circumstances. In order to evolve Nurses must be patient enough to Seminars or hands on practice and research about the things they lack. Sincerity of the profession is also required which will motivate them to do more and to do better. Like nurses computers should evolve also to meet their users need and satisfaction. As computer evolves their system also modifies to a new and better version which will help the users find some answers. This will help nurses promote expediency, efficiency, and precision. 

Nursing Informatics: Contribution to Nursing Field

      In today's generation of hospitals and other health care institutions, technology is widely accepted and used. Nursing is one of the most difficult and time consuming profession in the world dealing with many patients in just one nurse, especially here in the Philippines most nurses go abroad due to high percentage of salary and few are left serving their fellow Filipinos. The number 1 problem for this is documentation errors because of heavy workload that makes nurses forget what they are doing. Communication is poor, this is one of the common problems also faced by Nurses due to lack of time, there will be less communication to the other healthcare team and because of that collaboration is widely affected.

       We all know that technology is the answer for that problems especially that there's a new subject offered to Nursing courses which is the nursing informatics which helps future nurses know how to use a computer for documentation. Nursing Informatics can help nurses lessen time consumption in gathering datums that will reduce the number of errors. Through this it will be easy to work at any hospital with less errors at all and you can perform procedures or nursing intervention to your patient well without any disruptions. In the case of poor communication, through nursing informatics Nurses can budget their time well. This is why Computers today were regarded as an integral part of Nursing Practice.
